...... I want to tell you how much I enjoyed your Syrian evening. You could probably tell by looking at my plate that I thought the food was delicious, but the presentation was equally inspiring. I had a vague idea that there must be historical sites in Syria, but you showed us that the country is very rich in places to see, and that they are set in beautiful surroundings. It also came across that the people and culture of modern Syria have a lot to show us. Your own relaxed and humorous style makes you an excellent ambassador. Never mind wanting to visit, by the end of your talk, I wanted to go and live in Damascus!
