Earlier this year, Abir Wahish led a cultural evening for the residents of Carmarthen. Guests were given a photo tour of the history and sights of Syria, with a taste of Syrian foods followed with chilled tamarind juice and, later, Arabic coffee.

The evening closed with a belly dance exhibition by a local dance group. The evening was supported by staff from the Syrian Embassy and it resulted in 7 guests booking individual tours to Syria.
